Red River Charitable Foundation Announces 2021 Scholarship Recipients

CLAREMONT, N.H. and CHANTILLY, Va. – July 15, 2021 – Red River Charitable Foundation (RRCF), a 501(c)3 supporting veterans and students, today announced the recipients of its STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) scholarships. Now in its 14th year, the RRCF Scholarship program has awarded nearly 70 scholarships and supports recent high school graduates in the Northeast region pursuing STEM fields of study.

“It is a privilege to support these exceptional students, get to know what drives them and learn about the goals and vision they have for their futures,” said Dan McGee, Red River COO. “The STEM field is growing larger every day and we are honored to help start these students on their journey to a rewarding and challenging career.”

This year’s scholarship recipients included eight students from area schools:

Jackson Balch, from Hartford High School, attending University of Minnesota: Twin Cities

Jacob Cardillo, from Kearsarge Regional High School, attending Brown University

Adam LaPanne, from Sanborn Regional High School, attending University of New Hampshire

Sneha Magadi, from Lebanon High School, attending University of Connecticut

Evan Parker, from Londonderry High School, attending Roger Williams University

Parker Reed, from Sunapee High School, attending University of New Hampshire

Hunter Robb, from Lebanon High School, attending Endicott College

Owen Taylor, from Stevens High School, attending Southern New Hampshire University

Each awardee received a $5,000 scholarship for their college tuition and books, as well as Dell laptops, keyboards and printers. Winners were announced at the senior night of each high school.

To be considered for this scholarship, students must demonstrate qualities of good character and must submit an essay on a given topic about technology. RRCF rates each application on creativity and overall quality of the essay, extent of the student’s financial need, their involvement with extracurricular activities including community service and whether their grades demonstrate the behaviors of a conscientious student. Students are encouraged to pursue internships and full time careers at Red River as they work through their collegiate studies.
