RRCF Donates During Connect 2021
Each year during our national sales conference, Red River dedicates a full day of service with employees and partners to make an impact on a nonprofit in the community that we are visiting. Due to the circumstances, we couldn’t be together to do that this year, but still wanted to find a way to lend a hand.
Instead of using funds to support our community service project, this year Red River made donations to a number of organizations that are important to us and are truly making a difference in the lives of others. Here’s where the donations went:
- Bastion Community of Resilience: An intentionally built community for wounded veterans, and the home of Red River’s 2017 community service project.
- Central Texas Food Bank: Close to our Austin location, the food bank has seen a dramatic increase in food assistance needs as so many residents were impacted by pandemic shutdowns and work stoppages.
- Eunoia: Our 2019 Positively Transforming Communities Award receipt, this organization serves the Sacramento community by helping underprivileged teens and helping other teens give back to the community.
- Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship: Launched last year in the name of our former CEO, the scholarship provides grants to active duty and retired military personnel pursuing careers in the technology industry.
- Move America Forward: This Sacramento-based nonprofit provides care packages and letters from grateful Americans to the troops deployed in combat areas around the world.
- Newby-Ginnings: The recipient of our 2020 Positively Transforming Communities Award, Newby-Ginnings offers active duty military personnel, veterans and gold star families essential household items and basic necessities free of charge.
- Operation Hat Trick: A long-time Red River partner, sales of OHT branded merchandise support veterans healing from the visible and invisible effects of war.
- Willing Warriors: Many of our Virginia-area employees volunteer at the Warrior Retreat, a home-like atmosphere designed to give veterans recovering in area hospitals a place to regroup with their families
During Connect, we also launched a new volunteer platform called Volunteer Match to help our employees find service opportunities in their areas. This platform will help us achieve our 2021 corporate goal of reaching 5000 volunteer hours in 2021.
