BBF To Collect Winter Items & Donations During Bruins-Capitals Game
Fans can donate winter hats, scarfs and gloves to benefit New England Center and Home for Veterans
BOSTON – The Boston Bruins announced today that the Boston Bruins Foundation has partnered with Red River and Operation Hat Trick to collect winter items and monetary donations during the team’s upcoming game against the Washington Capitals at TD Garden on Thursday, January 10, to benefit the New England Center and Home for Veterans.
Fans can support this initiative by donating new winter hats, socks, scarfs and gloves, or by making a monetary donation at turnstiles prior to the game and at the “In The Community” table located outside Loge 4 across from Guest Services during the game. Fans will receive a raffle ticket for each item or $10 donated, which will enter them into a drawing to win player-signed pucks and jerseys. Winning raffle ticket numbers will be pulled during the second intermission and announced on the HDX as well as posted at Guest Services.
Following the collection drive, Bob Sweeney, President of the Boston Bruins Foundation, along with members of Red River and Operation Hat Trick, will help deliver the winter items to the New England Center and Home for Veterans later this month.
This is the third season that the Boston Bruins Foundation and Red River have teamed up to honor those who have served our country through sales of special edition Operation Hat Trick products (one hat and t-shirt each season), of which 100 percent of the net proceeds go toward supporting the recovery of wounded service members and veterans. Through the sales of Operation Hat Trick products at the TD Garden ProShop over the last three seasons, the Boston Bruins Foundation and Red River have helped raise more than $90,000 to support veterans and military members in our community in need.
