Changing the Game with 2GIT
The Second-Generation Information Technology (2GIT) blanket purchase agreement was designed for the United States Air Force to replace its Network-Centric Solutions 2 (NETCENTS-2) contract, which provides access to pre-vetted hardware and software IT vendors. While it was developed for the Air Force as an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, however, any federal agency can utilize the 2GIT contract vehicle.
In the federal market, customers with agency-wide cyberspace operations want to know that they are fully secured and digitally protected. With the right commercial off-the-shelf 2GIT products, software and hardware, the customer can free up program and acquisition resources while decreasing procurement execution timelines. With the ability to affect the IT industry at-large, the types of IT products and services that are available through 2GIT BPAs include the following:
- Purchasing of new, next-generation electronic equipment
- Maintenance of equipment, repair services and/or spare parts
- Software maintenance services
- Software Licenses – includes both term and perpetual software licenses and maintenance
“2GIT gives customers an avenue to procure Data Center, End User, Network and Radio Equipment products from trusted industry partners,” said Kevin Quinn, Sales Manager at Red River.
In his experience, Quinn has seen that 2GIT truly can streamline the buying process when looking for comprehensive set of IT products and ancillary services.
“2GIT gives all federal customers, especially the Air Force, access to IT Solutions that meet current and future requirements while managing inherent Supply Chain risk,” said Quinn. “It gives the end user peace of mind when it comes to addressing cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities.”
Under the contract, Red River can provide 2GIT products, services and support to customers, working to increase the availability of products for major OEMs and improving supply chain risk management (SCRM) with a full spectrum of software and hardware that meets standardized technical and security requirements.
“Red River’s approach to facilitating solutions for our customers hasn’t changed,” said Quinn. “We will continue to listen to our customers and create solutions that meet their meet their needs and solve their problems.”
This 2GIT BPA vehicle is administered using GSA acquisition processes to ensure compliance and maximum efficiency. By transitioning to this contract, any organization can reap the benefits of 2GIT by utilizing the latest in technology innovation.
