Red River Drives Solutions to Improve the Classroom Experience for Students and Educators

As a technology transformation company, Red River believes that a modern classroom should leverage modern tools to provide the best learning environment. This requires more than new computers and could mean a new network infrastructure or a new wireless solution. This past year, Red River responded to the new wave of total remote education and had to find and develop solutions to empower students and teachers while connecting remotely.

By developing unique solutions and tools that provide a real-world impact on students and faculty, Red River can focus its philanthropic efforts on making a difference in the lives of students interested in STEM.

For a brief look into how we provide a positive impact in education, here are some ways we give back:

Solutions for K-12 Schools

Although most K-12 school districts are now trying to return to a traditional in-school experience, some states like Arkansas are beginning to shift back towards remote learning. And this shift isn’t unusual with other states offering different options to their students to combine both in-person and remote opportunities.

Red River’s Access-EDU and Secure-EDU are designed to help schools seamlessly transition to remote learning, improving flexibility and strengthening network security. Access-EDU leverages cellular technology to allow students to connect to their school’s network regardless of their home internet. The goal of this solution was to provide equity to all students and teachers. Recognizing that internet access in remote or rural school districts is not always reliable, Access-EDU creates a cellular-based network connection to allow anyone to easily connect to their school’s internet from virtually any location.

Secure-EDU is also designed to strengthen the cybersecurity of a school’s network. Cybersecurity incidences have been rising consistently over the past several years and schools are no exception. This has left many students and schools vulnerable to data breaches. Secure-EDU provides proactive monitoring and response readiness to ensure the strength of a school’s network.

Solutions for Higher Education

Along with K-12 support, Red River has worked with institutions in higher education to improve the classroom and learning experience for all ages. In our long-term relationships with universities, we’ve seen that schools have needed help expanding their wireless infrastructure to meet an ever-increasing number of network devices. The networking engineers at Red River work with colleges to try to improve connectivity for students across their campus and remote. Working with schools, Red River has helped solve many unique challenges including managing high building density and maintaining the desire to preserve a collegiate aesthetic.

By leveraging a mix of technical expertise and creativity, Red River can satisfy requirements and deploy advanced networking, cloud and mobility solutions onto any campus. Whether the project requires installing dozens of access points, integrating a new cyber-security monitoring platform or migrating an entire infrastructure to the cloud, Red River can rapidly deploy and implement leading-edge solutions into any college or university.

RRCF Impact

Red River’s Charitable Foundation (RRCF) has made its dual mission to support both Veterans and Students studying STEM. For over 12 years, RRCF has supported high schoolers and college students through various scholarships, sponsorships and charity golf events. RRCF’s primary scholarship is awarded to seniors who intend to major in Computer Science or another course of study in the field of Information Technology. Recipients of the scholarship not only receive tuition assistance but also receive technical support with a new computer and printer.

Red River’s THINK SMART program mentors high school students interested in IT-related professions by providing hands-on experiences at Red River. Additionally, Red River supports several STEM-related programs around the country, including:

  • The Boston Bruins Foundation STEM Partnership
  • Burlington, VT Code Academy
  • The Carnegie Mellon STEM Scholarship
  • Girls’ Technology Day
  • High School IT work study programs
  • And many more

Impacting the daily lives of students and educators is important to Red River’s dual mission, existing as a technology transformation company as well as working to better others through effective philanthropy. As a company, Red River is committed to utilizing its technical expertise and resources to improve the educational experience of our nation’s students for years to come.
