Red River’s Impact on Our Clients: Nonprofit IT Services
Nonprofit organizations need to operate with lean budgets. More than ever, nonprofit organizations also need to be knowledgeable about their technology. Today’s nonprofit organizations use technology for things like fundraising, outreach and volunteer management. Without IT services for nonprofits, many nonprofit organizations wouldn’t be able to grow or even survive.
But internal IT support for nonprofits is often unlikely — many nonprofit organizations run on shoestring budgets and simply can’t afford the costs of an internal IT department. That’s where managed services for nonprofits can help.
Managed Service Providers and Nonprofit Organizations
Managed service providers (MSPs) help nonprofit organizations leverage their lean budgets more effectively. Rather than having to hire internal IT departments, nonprofit organizations can simply pay for the expertise, experience and services they need with an MSP. This allows nonprofit organizations to go further with their budgets.
Furthermore, nonprofit organizations have a lot of information that they need to protect. They may need to protect their own employee information, the information of their benefactors and the information of anyone that they help. An MSP can help secure a nonprofit organization’s system — reducing the chances of a malicious attack and swiftly mitigating malicious attacks that do occur.
Finally, technology makes it easier for nonprofit organizations to reach out and achieve their goals. Today, nearly everything is run on technology. Fundraisers have to connect to social media. Individuals want to donate through websites, not checks. Having a technology portal is absolutely critical for most charitable organizations.
Fulfilling a Nonprofit Organization’s Unique IT Needs with Red River
Red River works hard to support nonprofit organizations with the technology they need. Systems like MS Teams and Office 365 can provide collaborative, consolidated solutions that organizations can use to ensure that they are able to both distribute and protect data. Nonprofit organizations can leverage the power of the cloud — and in so doing, they can supercharge their infrastructure and reduce their on-premises spending.
With the technology provided by Red River, nonprofit organizations can re-allocate their IT spending. Red River can perform a full audit of the nonprofit’s technology to identify areas of potential improvement, as well as potential gaps. Rather than having to spend on an internal IT department, the nonprofit organization will instead be able to spend money on IT improvements. Any internal IT staff can concentrate on IT improvements that might benefit the organization and help to generate revenue.
Red River works with organizations in all sectors, from federal DoD contracts to commercial solutions. For nonprofit organizations, Red River can concentrate on the technology that is necessary to help the organization grow, connect and thrive. Every nonprofit organization is unique — and every organization has its own unique goals and missions. Many of these goals and missions can be facilitated through better technology.
Charitable, Community Giving and Red River
Red River truly believes in the mission of nonprofit organizations. In fact, Red River has its own organization: the Red River Charitable Foundation (RRCF). RRCF supports students, veterans and communities in need, hoping to make technology more accessible and build long-term relationships with communities.
Over the course of the last couple of years, Red River has engaged in numerous initiatives:
- RRCF’s Cisco-Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Scholarship for HBCU students. Students enrolled at an HBCU could qualify for the CCNA learning program — granting them one of the most useful certificates in the industry. RRCF is dedicated to educating the new generation of IT professionals.
-
Annual Community Service Project. Every year, during the National Sales Conference, Red River donates a full day of time to a nonprofit organization in the community. During 2021 and the pandemic, donations were made to avoid in-person contact while still maintaining community connection.
- RRCF’s Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship. RRCF has announced 11 recipients of the Jeff Sessions Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship to support each recipient’s goals in the technology field. Each of the 11 recipients receives $5,000 for their educational goals from this annual scholarship.
Red River hopes to continue to support education, veterans, and the overall growth of the community — not only through its own charitable initiatives but also through helping nonprofit organizations build and develop their IT infrastructure. Organizations in all spectrums, sizes and industries can benefit from the advantages of new technology.
